KENGANZI AGENCIES  COMPANY UGANDA  LIMITED

From its humble beginnings as an informal farm in  2003, cultivating cocoa on a modest 5-acre plot  primarily for sale to middlemen, Kenganzi Agencies  Company Uganda Ltd officially registered in 2010.  Since then, it has evolved into a home-grown  commercial success story, emerging as a flagship  model company for cocoa and vanilla production,  processing, and trading in Western Uganda.

Situated in Kissuba Sub County (Busolu Parish),  Kenganzi Agencies manages 35 acres dedicated to  cocoa cultivation and an additional 4 acres for  vanilla production. The plantation is complemented by an out-grower network consisting of 500  smallholder farmers, with a remarkable 98.8%  being female. The company aims to expand this  network to include 2,000 smallholder farmers.

Currently, the company aims to invest in a modern  cocoa and vanilla processing plant in Nyahuka  Town Council to provide a ready market for 2,000  farmers supplying cocoa and vanilla directly to the  processing plant, profiting them from locally added value and certification premiums. Additional  investment is needed in extension services to  promote the adoption of climate-smart agricultural  practices, majorly to transform existing cocoa and vanilla monoculture plantations/farms into  productive agroforestry systems, and harnessing  significant environmental impact through converting  Cocoa Pod Husk (CPH) into wealth.
