Kive Farm Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Ltd (Kive Farm)  is a major Ugandan exporter of farm-fresh fruits and  vegetables to the European Union, Gulf Countries, and  the East African Community. The company’s primary  focus lies in the sweet cayenne pineapple variety,  cultivated across a 15-acre expanse in Kikyusa, Luwero  District, and sourced from over 500 smallholder farmers  in central and western Uganda..

Recognizing challenges in maintaining consistent  quality and quantity of pineapples due to informal  business practices, suboptimal farming methods, and  inadequate postharvest handling, Kive Farm invests in  sustainable sourcing, agricultural development, farm  inputs, and the establishment of new plantations. The  company also engages in pre-financing pineapples in  the flowering stage from smallholder farmers. The  management of mature gardens is overseen by the  Agri-Sme, with harvesting occurring biannually over  eighteen months, fostering market access.

Kive Farm has transformed into a thriving SME  operating on 15 acres. The company now collaborates  with more than 500 smallholder farmers, collectively cultivating over 2,500 acres. Kive Farm’s  comprehensive approach extends beyond profitability,  aiming to ensure a living income for farmers, promote  sustainable agriculture, and contribute to the prosperity  of the communities it engages with.
