MOUNT RWENZORI COFFEE FARMERS’ COOPERATIVE UNION LIMITED

Mt. Rwenzori Coffee Farmer’s Cooperative Union  Limited is an esteemed association of coffee farmers  with a primary focus on coffee value addition and  export. The Union has successfully mobilized and empowered 22 primary cooperative societies to operatr their coffee businesses sustainably, encompassing activities such as coffee bilking and collective marketing. Currently, the union has registered 2,948 Arabica coffee farmers through their respective cooperative societies, with 1,254 actively engaged.

 

At the Agri-SME premises, they have dedicated offices,  a store, and a huller, all serving our operational needs.  Notably, during our Annual General Meeting (AGM),  we have identified four primary societies for Fairtrade  certification, reflecting our commitment to ethical  practices. Established in 2013 as an association and officially  registered as a cooperative union in 2014, the  organization has been instrumental in mobilizing  farmers and fostering sustainable and profitable coffee  businesses. The union is authorized to operate in  seven districts of western Uganda, including Kasese,  Bunyangabu, Bundibugyo, Kabarole, Rubirizi, Ntoroko,  and Kamwenge.
