TWENUNULA FARMERS’ ASSOCIATION LIMITED (TFA)
In 2020, a gathering of 56 young individuals (61% of whom were female) culminated in the establishment of a new, more compact association known as Twenunula Farmers’ Association (TFA). Originally registered as a cooperative society in 2020, it was subsequently re- registered as a company limited by guarantee.
Presently, TFA has transformed into a confident, female-led coffee producer and exporter collaborating with 1,315 farmers. These farmers are organized into business hubs, each comprising approximately 30 members, spread across Masaka, Rakai, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi, Mpigi, Wakiso, Nakasekke, Kayunga, and Kamuli districts. United by a shared vision, these farmers aim to work collectively as innovative and forward-thinking agriculturalists , marketing their Arabica and Robusta coffee to enhance their livelihoods.
TFA’s intervention is designed to amplify coffee business linkages from rural areas, extending its reach to over 3,000 smallholder farmers, connecting them with both domestic and international markets.
Our growth strategy revolves around targeted investments in the coffee value chain. The primary objectives include enhancing production yields by 30%, cutting post-harvest losses by 50%, elevating revenues for smallholder farmers by 50%, promoting responsible consumption and production practices.
To realize these ambitions, we are actively seeking to secure USD 500,000 in the form of equity.
